It is said that a photograph is worth a thousand words. Not only does the viewer have their own perception, but the photographer can tell a story of capture and reason. Below is a small collection of my own photos... When you're through, I invite you to share your comments in my Guestbook.  More photos coming soon...

"Law of Attraction"
By Michael D. Gandy

We all know that bees are attracted to flowers. Why? Because they want to get the ladies, that's why! Haha. Pollination is a necessary step in the sexual reproduction of flowering plants, resulting in the production of offspring that are genetically diverse. It is important in horticulture and agriculture, because fruiting is dependent on fertilisation, which is the end result of pollination.

"Spark of Interest"
By Michael D. Gandy

Here's an old photo that I took from my old home. I saw a couple of love birds sitting on a powerline, and well, I thought it was pretty interesting to me. When a couple shows extreme interest, there becomes a chemistry or electricity between them. The coolest part of this photo is what happens when you increase the contrast--you can actually see the electricity coming off the power lines. Click here to see what it looks like.

"Independence"
By Michael D. Gandy

When I was first learning about photography I went to the duck pond at the University of New Mexico. There I had the opportunity to spend a few hours taking numerous shots of hummingbirds. The photo you see here is probably my favorite. I noticed that all the hummingbirds steered from each other and hung out by themselves. I felt an ora of independence I guess...

"Trust"
By Michael D. Gandy

This little birdy came right up to me when I was taking pictures. I've never seen anything like it. His or her trust in me was amazing. The photo was taken at actual distance (no zoom necessary). Have you seen the movie, The Tale of Despereaux? It's about a mouse who was born without the ability to cower, and his colony banishes him for not "following the rules." Maybe this little bird was born with the same trait. Lol.

"If You Pay Attention"
By Michael D. Gandy

In my book, Unfolding Your Dreams for Success, I explain to the reader how to look at the fine details in life. There's nothing more interesting to me than the small stuff we don't ever pay attention to. What do you think it would be like as a dragonfly? It reminds me of one my favorite songs: "Dragonfly" by Ziggy Marley.

"Ant-icipation"
By Michael D. Gandy

Okay, I was getting a little camera happy at this point, taking photos of everything that I enjoyed looking at. Not a bad shot though, right?! I bet he thought I was a freakin' giant anticipating his own death. Lol. I remember a Steven Seagal movie, Hard to Kill, where he quoted, "Anticipation of death is worse than death itself!" Yes I'm a Seagal fan. I studied Aikido (which is the martial arts Seagal knows) for a couple of years before I discovered him...
