It is said that a photograph is worth a thousand words. Not only does the viewer have their own perception, but the photographer can tell a story of capture and reason. Below is a small collection of my own photos... When you're through, I invite you to share your comments in my . More photos coming soon...

"Forgotten" By Michael D. Gandy

My friend Loida found this place west of Rio Rancho in New Mexico, and requested a photoshoot on location. Besides having a blast with Loida, who can be quite entertaining and full of laughter, I enjoyed the scenery as well. The cars shown in this photo looked abandoned and forgotten, then found, shot up, spray painted gold, and forgotten again... Were they stolen vehicles? Was it an accident that they ended up here? The mystery remains. All I do know, is that whoever forgot about them probably didn't expect someone else to come along and create their own memory. They mean two different things to two different people.

"What Dreams May Come" By Michael D. Gandy
As noted above, Loida's photoshoot was more than just a photoshoot. Found just west of Rio Rancho, NM, you'll find this eye-catching view of the desert from a cliff that I never knew existed prior to the shoot. Loida's bravery and idea for this photo alloted for my perception of what dreams may come. What do you think this will look like in 20 years? Will itbe taken over as an expansion to Rio Rancho? What do you think Loida was thinking about at this very moment? She certainly didn't seem scared that she was at the edge of a huge cliff... Haha.

"Lucky Number Seven" By Michael D. Gandy
This photo was taken on 07-07-07, during one of Albuquerque's most exciting thunderstorms. I was requested to snap a picture of downtown Albuquerque at night, and it just so happened to start raining... Instead of gathering my equipment and heading home, I decided to stick around and try my attempt at taking pictures of this gorgeous white fire for the first time. With hundreds of lightning bolts tearing through the sky within a span of over two hours, I was able to become a pro just in time to capture this photo. Sometimes I think that the date had something to do with my opportunity.

"Urban Nights" By Michael D. Gandy
In reference to the above photo, this was the shot that I was set out to capture on 07-07-07. Downtown Albuquerque can be quite illuminating when you look at it from a distance. Nothing but office buildings, banks, court houses... and a helicopter flying by to create a mysterious light in the sky. After taking this photo, I cropped it and framed the panoramic on my wall. My next goal is to get it enlarged on canvass or wallpaper somewhere in one of the buildings in the photo. Anybody have connections?

"Heat" By Michael D. Gandy
In my photo, "Lucky Number Seven," you'll read about the storm on 07-07-07. Just north of downtown Albuquerque, there are three volcanos that are no longer active. I labeled this photo, "Heat," for four reasons. As you can probably guess, the first two are because of the lightning and volcanos. The 3rd reason is because I was heated up when taking these photos (the first night I captured lightning). And last but not least, when displaying my photos in an art show, I ran into a couple who told me that they remembered that night very well: that was the night he proposed to her. :) Heat, passion, and no disasters...

"Proposal" By Michael D. Gandy
If you've read my notes on the photos above, you'd understand why this day was so important to me. Just before the storm on 07-07-07 was this amazing sunset. But I wasn't the only one who thought this night was perfect: as noted previously, when displaying my photos in an art show I ran into a couple who told me that this was the night he proposed to her. This photo represents this beautiful event in honor of Veronica and Phil.
